Science of Routine is the ninth of ten topics within the project “Listen first” of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), which is implemented in cooperation with the Office for Combating Drugs of the Government of the Republic of Serbia and government officials and organizations. at the national level as well as at the local level, the authorities that deal with the problem of drug abuse within their competence.
By creating a global campaign to prevent drug addiction called “Listen first”, United Nations experts had the idea to provide parents, teachers, and policy makers, as one of the target groups targeted by this campaign, with a different, modern approach to areas of proper upbringing of children.
Scientists have shown that consistency in performing certain tasks, in the same order and in the same way, is the most efficient way of creating a habit in children. Family routines, such as shared meals, help reduce anxiety and stressful situations in parents and children, and enable children to feel healthier and happier. A routine in performing daily activities helps children grow into self-confident and happier people.
