The XVII ECPD International Specialist School entitled “Contemporary Achievements in the Prevention, Treatment and Rehabilitation of Addiction Diseases” was held in Ohrid on May 21–22, 2026.
The main theme of this year’s event was “Psychiatry and Addictology – Between a Multidisciplinary and AI Approach”, with special emphasis on the importance of modern technologies and artificial intelligence in improving the prevention, diagnostics, treatment and rehabilitation of persons suffering from addiction diseases.
The School brought together eminent national and international experts in the fields of psychiatry, addictology and related disciplines, who, through lectures, panel discussions and the exchange of examples of good practice, presented contemporary trends and challenges in the field of mental health and addiction diseases.
Within the framework of the III Session entitled “Multidisciplinary Approach to Addiction Diseases with Special Emphasis on Prevention”, the Director of the Office for Combating Drugs of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, Mr. Milan Pekić, delivered a presentation on the topic “Multisectoral Approach and Decentralization in the Field of Drug Policies”.
The organization of such professional gatherings represents a significant contribution to strengthening international cooperation, improving professional capacities and developing innovative approaches in the fight against addiction diseases.
