Director of the Office for Combating Drugs, Mr. Milan Pekic, visited the School of Service Business in the municipality of Sokolac as part of the program “Knowledge Against Drug Abuse.” On January 27th, he delivered a lecture on the abuse of psychoactive substances and the consequences they have on individuals, families, and society as a whole.

Considering that many consequences can be prevented through preventive action and education, and being aware of the problems caused by the abuse of psychoactive substances, the School of Service Business Sokolac provided its employees and students with the opportunity to receive information relevant to their activities. The goal was to develop additional competencies for employees in this higher education institution and to educate students.

In addition to emphasizing the importance of education and prevention in this field and acquainting those present with the consequences and harmful effects of using psychoactive substances, Mr. Pekic also outlined how and where users of psychoactive substances can seek help. He also highlighted civil society organizations that can assist in the rehabilitation and re- socialization process for individuals struggling with addiction.
