In line with the implementation process of activities from the Action Plan for Chapter 24, a delegation of the European Union Drugs Agency (hereinafter: EUDA) visited all relevant state administration bodies and selected civil society organizations involved in the monitoring process and the Early Warning System on new psychoactive substances in the Republic of Serbia, during the period from 27 to 30 October 2025.

As part of the visit to the state administration bodies of the Republic of Serbia, the EUDA delegation also visited the Office for Combating Drugs on 30 October 2025.

The EUDA delegation had the opportunity to learn about all the activities undertaken by the Office in the previous period to enhance the field of drug policy, with particular emphasis on the activities planned for the upcoming period.

During the visit, the Republic of Serbia’s commitment to implementing the necessary measures to align its national legislation with the legal framework of the European Union was emphasized, in accordance with the Stabilisation and Association Agreement.

Considering that the harmonization process encompasses all EU acquis, special attention is devoted to the current EU legal framework during the development of public policy documents prescribed by the Law on the Planning System of the Republic of Serbia, specifically the Strategy on Drug Abuse Prevention.

The importance of long-term cooperation and the exchange of best practices in the field of drug policy was highlighted, along with mutual readiness and interest in further collaboration.

The meeting concluded with the presentation of a plaque by the Director of the Office, Mr. Pekić, to Ms. Jane Mounten, Head of the Unit for Drug Use, Harms, and Responses at the European Union Drugs Agency, as a token of appreciation for continuous professional support and assistance.

Following the meeting with the representatives of the Office, and upon the initiative of EUDA, the Office also organized a meeting with the Executive Director of the NGO Re Generation, Ms. Molnar.
