An expert meeting of the International Network on Drug Legislation (INLOD), organized by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), was held in Vienna, Austria, from 8 to 9 December 2025, as a follow-up to the First Global INLOD Meeting. The event was attended by representatives of the Office for Combating Drugs of the Government of the Republic of Serbia.
The meeting brought together experts and representatives of competent institutions from a number of countries, with the aim of deepening dialogue and exchanging experiences on legislative and institutional responses to contemporary drug-related challenges, with a particular focus on synthetic drugs.
Discussions addressed issues related to the implementation of international substance scheduling decisions, legislative approaches to new psychoactive substances, the regulation of activities involving precursors, and criminal law responses to drug-related offences. Particular attention was given to the handling of cases of a minor nature and personal consumption offences, the application of alternative measures to conviction or punishment, measures to facilitate investigations, as well as procedures for the seizure and disposal of drugs and precursors.
Participants emphasized the importance of strengthening international cooperation, sharing good practices, and the role of experts and decision-makers in developing effective and harmonized legislative solutions.
The meeting was attended by a representative of the Office for Combating Drugs of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, Ms Mia Matić.
