The Director of the Office for Combating Drugs of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, Mr. Milan Pekić, was a guest in Dnevnik 2 of the Serbian Radio and Television (RTS) and presented his expert opinion on online drug trafficking and the increase in the percentage of drug users.
Organized criminal groups further invest the proceeds of crime in the commission of new crimes under Art. 246 of the Criminal Code, which refer to the unauthorized production and distribution of narcotics, in order to gain even greater property benefits, the Director of the Office, Mr. Milan Pekić, pointed out.
Director of the Office, Mr Pekic, further said that the organized criminal groups use codes that makes it difficult to detect them, the origin of money, the purpose for which the money is invested, and the factual situation that needs to be determined by the judicial authorities in case of possible criminal proceedings.
However, members of the competent public security services of the Republic of Serbia are professionally trained to take effective measures in the fight against organized crime, concluded the director of the Office, Mr. Milan Pekić.
