On Thursday, March 24, representatives of the Office for Combating Drugs of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, have visited the Center for Rehabilitation and Resocialization of Persons Suffering from Addiction, “Zemlja živih”.
Center “Zemlja živih” was found in 2005. under the auspices of the Monastery from Kovilj. The founder of the project is His Holiness the Serbian Patriarch Mr. Porfirije. The activities are carried out in four therapeutic communities (Čenej, Vilovo, Slankamenački Vinogradi and Brajkovac) in which 100 proteges live. Center “Zemlja živih” is organized on the experiences of similar projects that exist in the EU countries, as well as in the countries in region.
Representatives of the Office had the opportunity to get acquainted with the program of the Center, the experiences of the proteges, as well as to visit one of the complexes of the Center, based in Čenej. In good faith, the representatives of the Center, as well as representatives of the Office exchanged views, examples of good practices and opportunities on the basis of the Memorandum of Cooperation.
