A meeting between representatives of the Office for Combating Drugs and the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction (EMCDDA) was held on Monday, February 21st. The meeting was attended by Mr. Frédéric Denecker and Mrs. Katerina Skarupova, officials from EMCDDA, and the Director of the Office for Combating Drugs, along with its staff.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss future collaboration between the Office and EMCDDA, as well as plans for upcoming projects. During the meeting, EMCDDA representatives had the opportunity to gain insight into the work of the Office and learn about its past achievements.Representatives of the Office highlighted the most important goals for the future, of which the continuation of cooperation with international as well as national partners, as well as the introduction of quality management through the Common Assessment Framework (CAF) model is particularly noteworthy.
The meeting took place in a positive atmosphere, and both the Office and EMCDDA expressed their willingness to work together to enhance the fight against drug abuse and addiction. This meeting represents a significant step towards strengthening international cooperation in the battle against drugs and drug addiction, aiming to create a safer and healthier society, free from the harmful consequences of drug abuse.
On the same day, a Regional Roundtable on Drug Strategies was organized in the premises of the Palace of Serbia, organized by the Network for Drug Policy in Southeast Europe, with the support of the Office for Combating Drugs of the Government of the Republic of Serbia. The roundtable was attended by representatives of civil society organizations and government agencies from both the Republic of Serbia and other countries in the region, as well as international and regional experts.
