The protégés users of the “Duga” Center stay inside the facilities at two different locations on the territory of Novi Sad and Temerin, within which they are provided with the necessary medical assistance and supervision during their stay with the help of mentors and professional staff.
Representatives of the Office for Combating Drugs had the opportunity to visit both rehabilitation centers of the association “Duga” and to get acquainted with the way of working and living conditions in the Center “Duga” through conversations with protégés and their personal testimony about the fight against addiction.
At the “Duga” Center, there are currently 25 protégés staying in the center’s facilities for a period of 18 months, depending on the needs of the user.
Beneficiaries of the Center “Duga” within the recovery program, participate in the daily activities of the Center, such as working in the kitchen, arranging the garden inside the buildings and performing daily prayers, and thus learn integration into society and most importantly reintegration into flows of family life.
During the visit to the Association, representatives of the Office emphasized the importance of becoming therapeutic communities as a form of combating addiction and pointed out that with multidisciplinary cooperation of state administration bodies, especially with health institutions and therapeutic communities, even greater efficiency in combating addiction can be achieved.
