The Office for Combating Drugs of the Government of the Republic of Serbia today formally announced the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation with four civil society organizations. This step represents a significant advancement in improving coordination and establishing a systemic framework that will facilitate collaboration between state institutions and civil society organizations engaged in drug policy issues. By signing this document, the foundations are being laid for accelerating future activities in the field of drug abuse prevention and support for individuals struggling with addiction.
The main objective of signing the Memorandum is to create a comprehensive framework for joint action between governmental bodies and the civil sector in addressing issues related to psychoactive substance dependence. This initiative enhances cooperation between public institutions and civil society organizations, with the aim of fostering the development of innovative approaches and methods in the fight against drug abuse.
The Memorandum of Cooperation was signed with the following civil society organizations:
- Association of Police Officers and Citizens “Safe Community”
- Association Neo-Sinapsa
- Association for Assistance to Addicts “Crossroads”
- Association NAOS – National Association for Support
This step is expected to contribute to improved information exchange, joint planning, and implementation of projects aimed at preventing and reducing problems related to drug use, as well as strengthening partnerships between state institutions and the civil sector.
